Okay guys, if you’re one of my long-term followers, this video is for you. Because I’ve been hit with all this stuff lately and I need to figure out a way to deal with it, and so I need your help.
So as you guys know, I’m an author. I have four books; I just released my fourth. And this is basically how I make my money. I’m able to do about twelve videos a day in my activist stuff. I have over a hundred Substack articles written. I got books written. I am pumping out content. And if I just had a book sale or two or three a day, I would be golden. That’s all I need.
And so I don’t push these books a lot. I tack something on at the end of my video, if you happen to get to it, that says, 'Ah, hey, buy my books to support my work,' right? And normally this is fine. I can live on twenty or thirty dollars a day here in Dahab and I can just get up and start creating content again, right?
But I have these things that have come up now. My passport is expired, guys, right? I could be in serious trouble here. Like, my passport is expired. I need to get this renewed. And it is not easy here, and I have to go to Cairo to do it. So I have to get transport there, I’ve got to have a place to stay there, and then I have to get back and forth to the embassy, fill out all the paperwork, pay the fees, blah blah blah blah blah.
And also, I’ve been invited to go places like Jordan and Morocco and liaison with activist communities there and stuff like this. I can’t go without my passport. And also, my visa in Egypt is expired, and which is no big deal, but they’re going to get you in the end. So when I book a ticket and I fly out, I’m going to pay the fine that I owe for my visa expired.
So it’s like all these things at once. And all of these things together, it’s like with the fact that my rent is also due this week, which I’m so grateful for—it’s only a couple hundred bucks. But still, it’s like a thousand bucks. I need to sell a hundred books.
And so I really need your help. So if you’ve read one of my books, do a review. If you haven’t, buy one and read it. Or make a video and say, 'Hey, my friend Quinn is an author, he’s got four books, go check him out,' and put my link there. Share the post, comment on the post. Like, I don’t ask for a whole lot, and honestly, I would rather go back to just doing my activism videos than push my own stuff. But like, I really need to sell a hundred books because I’m going to be in serious trouble if I can’t get this stuff resolved.
